Sleep had indeed come over Rinka quickly, but she didn't dream of anything, just a large black nothingness this time.
All the jewelry would be move-able by Kazen, with the exception of one particular necklace. It threw dark blue specs over the ground if the light should touch any of the blue gems set in it, and seemed as if it were taken care of much better than the rest, not holding a scratch and looking newly polished despite all Rin had gone through. It didn't even have a single black mark from her jumping through fire. When he goes to pick it up, the necklace would just seem to slip through his fingers back to the floor as soon as he gasped it and stay under the couch. That item was potently laced with charms and enchantments.
It didn't take much to wake her, even if she was in a deep sleep trying to recover. As soon as Kazen set his weight on the couch Rinka opened her eyes, her head lifting to look over at him, suddenly wide-awake. "Yes?"

Kazen starts slightly, not expecting her to wake that quickly.
"Geese, a little warning next time please?"
Guessing from her reaction she didn't know her jewels were gone, he just acts natural. "So, you hungry now? I saved some of the fish for you."
He gets up and walks into the kitchen ahead of her.

A little warning next time? It wasn't her fault she was a light sleeper, though maybe she could feign waking up slowly next time since she was safer in this house than her jungle home, him being the only one around to wake her.
Rinka didn't think to check back under the couch for her jewels, just thinking them where they should be, and knowing that her most precious is always safe. "Alright," she called from her half-laying position on the couch, "I don't suppose you would be willing to bring the fish to me?"
It may have been a long shot, but Rin really wasn't looking forward to getting back up again. She could at least try, right?

Kazen sighs at her reply, but decides he shouldn't be surprised. He walks into his room again to get his book, stopping on the way to tell Rin:
"Just get it yourself, also I've been kind of keeping it warm for you, but I don't think it will stay that way for to much longer."
He gets his book from his room and sits back on the couch to read it.

Yeah, she hadn't really expected that to work... Oh well, uncurling from her ball she got up, flinching at the pressure put on once again after having rested for awhile. At least he claimed to keep it warm for her, likely with that fire magic of his. It wasn't much of a start to gaining him as an ally, but it was one.
"Fine, fine. Some appreciation you show." Just so she wouldn't have to bring the plate back, Rinka took the fish off and simply set the plate in the sink to wash later.
The couch was once again inhabited by the man so she took the chair again instead. Out of her curious nature, she tried to get a glance at the title to see what he was reading.

The book is a simple black book with a purple border, but doesn't have any title.
Glancing up, Kazen sees Rin looking at his book from the corner of his eye. Closing the book, he looks at her.
"Do you want something?"

Rinka couldn't believe that he had just asked her that. This was his fault, not hers.
"Yes, I would. I would like a large mansion to live in with a place to swim with fish in it, no fewer than twelve trees, my own personal slave, preferably another werecat like myself, but a tiger, a large room with lots of pillows filled with chicken feathers, long drapes, a place to sharpen my claws against, three bracelets made of copper, silver, and gold, a necklace with a gargoyle pendent on it, a very large catfish, three dragon eggs, a phoenix, the blood of a demon, and a gnome." It was here she took a quick pause, "The name of that book and your own name I would like as well."
yeap... he brought that on himself..

Kazen raises an eyebrow, guessing he was a little to broad with his question......maybe? Either way, he only gives her one thing.
"The book is one I picked up from Darkridge one time I visited. It's an instruction book on Umbramancy, I've been trying to master it, but so far I've only been able to cast one spell from the book."
He goes back to reading when he's finished speaking, ignoring the request to know his name.

Now awake for the most part after her catnap was interrupted, Rinka stretched out in the chair, arching her back over one of the arms and her feet hanging over the other, looking at him upside-down. It wasn't very comfortable for her side at first, but that quickly faded away to a slight annoyance.
Reaching down she picked at the floor while watching him, "And what about your name? I call you different things otherwise, like Sir fluffalopagose."
She didn't get why he couldn't just tell her his name, or at least what he went by, like how she went by Rin. Either way, she was going to be persistent about this.

Kazen ignores the weird name, glancing at her.
"I don't want to tell you my name, so stop asking."
He's starting to get a little annoyed with her constant asking, wondering how a pet could be so annoying.

A soft rumble enters the room as she purrs lightly, smirking when she seems to be getting to him some, "Why not? I told you want to call me, so why won't you tell me? I promise not to go spreading it around to much to all the dust bunnies hiding under your bed."
Hey, if a little annoyance get her his name, she could deal with that.

Kazen looks at her from the corner of his eye, debating testing his new spell then deciding against it, deciding she doesn't deserve it.....yet.
He sighs "You're my pet, you don't need to know my name and I don't like giving to people. Besides, you'd likely just try to bind my demon form or whatever, and then I'll actually be mad."
Goes back to reading again.

How dare he accuse her of such a thought! She would nev- .... Alright, so she had actually considered doing this, but only as a last resort in-case he tried to kill her again. She probably resented being called a pet as much as he did being called weak though, he knew her nickname, he should use it. If he wanted a true pet, he should have gotten a simple-minded house cat.
Rolling herself off the chair, she came over to lay on the back of the couch, bringing her hand up to toy with his long hair, having a minor OCD moment of trying to make every hair lay perfectly in place. "Pets need not know names, and you don't like givin' it to people. So am I a pet you don't mind givin' it to, or a people who needs to know your name?"

Kazen raises an eyebrow, confused for a second and actually taking a few seconds to figure out what she just said. He sighs. Thinking about what he knew about cats (assuming that counted for her as well?) he scratches lightly behind her ear like he would a normal cat after feeling her play with his hair.
"Well, you said you wanted to be my pet, so you're my pet. If you really want to know my name, you have to prove that you can be trusted to know it. Until then, I am not telling you."
Keeps on reading, holding the book open with one hand as he scratches with the other.

Shaking her head, Rinka pulled away from his hand. Yes, she enjoyed the scratching, but she didn't want to relax around him so she wouldn't give him the pleasure of loving on her beautiful spotted coat. Even if she had agreed to be his pet, that didn't mean she truely wanted to be it.
Continueing to play with his hair even though she wouldn't let him play with hers, Rinka shrugged. She could wait she supposed, it shouldn't take too long to win enough trust to get a simple name. Maybe a few meals, some cleaning, how hard could it be?
"Alright... As long as you'll tell me eventually."

Kazen pouts slightly at her pulling away but quickly regains his usual expression. Pulling his hair away from her, he finally puts his book on a nearby table and turns to her.
"Look, you think I get by in life by trusting people? I'm half demon. Also, you are my pet, so you will do as I say. Don't forget, Rin."
Picking up his book, he walks over to his room and shuts the door behind him, forgetting to lock it this time and sits at his desk and continues his book in peace.

Never would she have been able to ever picture this man making the expression he had in that very small window of poutyness. Just because if had come from what she had thought would be a stuck up killer of mass destruction, it was utterly adorable. If things could be another way, she would want him as her pet.
Rinka knew that half demon's weren't exactly treated so nicely, so she could understand not giving her all his trust for the little time that they had known each other, but a nickname should have been fine. What could she do with that anyway? Nothing. She needed his real one.
She watched him go, sitting up on the couch when he pulls away. For some reason she sort of had the desire to try eating the long hair much like a real cat just to see why they really did like doing that. That might not go so well, he'd probably think that she was literally trying to bite his head off and roast her.
Sighing, Rin stood up and followed after him, surprised when she turned the knob and the door clicked open softly. She couldn't resist, even if he was in there, she peeked in quietly.

Kazen sighs, flipping through the book and decides to try his new spell again. He holds out his hand pointing towards the door but still looking at the book for extra instructions.
"Shaverak."
He glances around to see five blades of darkness form around him. At this point, this was all he could make, but he had read of mages sending scores of blades down on a army to quickly shatter and break it. Plus, he always like learning a new spell.
Glancing at the book again, he closes his fingers. "Zelezeek."
All at once, the blades fly through the air at extreamly high speed, slamming into and around the door. It's only then he notices that the door was open at the time the blades were striking. Realizing he had forgotten to lock the door and that Rin had likely gotten curious, he quickly put the book down and ran over to the door to make sure she was alright.
"God dang it, why am I an idiot sometimes?"

He seemed to be performing some sort of spell from what she could make out, feeling the hum of energy starting to gather. This must have been the one he had mentioned. She wasn't familar with the words used, so it wasn't any sort of conjouring or ritual spell she assumed. Still, as dark blades formed out of thin air, she couldn't help but think that he was making a fine begining on learning a whole new school of magic.
It wasn't until he uttered a second word that she realized he wasn't finished practicing with the spell.
When the five blades took aim and were flung at her, Rin was quick to duck down, even though she had only half-opened the door and wasn't fully in the room. They had still been thrown in her direction. She took this as retalliation for peeking in at him.
Letting out a half-fierce, half-pained hiss, Rinka shifted into a leopard and ran with an awkward gait from the him and the door, going off to find the furthest, darkest place she could and crawn in it, even if it had to be under the couch.

Looking around the room, he doesn't see Rin anywhere, but what he does see confuses him, a leopard under his couch. Slowly approaching, careful not to startle it, he holds out his hand to it.
"Easy there, I'm not going to hurt you, just come out, okay?"
Half expecting it to jump out and attack him, he puts up a barrier to deflect it's claws and fangs just in case and hopes it will just come out without attacking, not knowing it's actually Rin.

Rinka turned under the couch to face where she heard his footsteps coming from. She let out another hiss when he looked under the couch and backed as far away from him as she could while still keeping cover under it.
She really didn't believe that he wasn't going to hurt her after this second attempt, unaware it had just been an accident. She wouldn't come out, expecting another attack on her as 'punishment' for invading his privacy.
Rinka may not come out and attack him, but she swiped at his hand when he held it out to her. The swipe didn't get near his fingers, just a warning telling him she wasn't about to come out. Ears laying flat against her head, she rumbled not with a purr this time, but a low growl.

Kazen sighs at the growl. Deciding this cat isn't going to come out, he just leaves it there hoping it will just fall asleep or something. Continuing his search, he pokes into each room, calling Rin's name each time he sticks his head in.
"God, where did she go?"
Finally going into the kitchen and seeing she wasn't there, he gives up, guessing she found the way out and left or something, which didn't surprise him in the least. Sighing, he walked back into the main room, forgetting about the leopard, and sits in a chair by the fireplace, igniting the wood pre-set in it and leaning back to take a nap.

Only when the man's foot-steps quiet down and she spots them next to the chair does Rinka carefully look out from under the couch. He seemed to be settling down for some sleep, what she wouldn't give for some of that too. She waited though, she wasn't going to sleep just yet.
For awhile she waited until his breathing slowed and it was clear that he had fallen to sleep for a nap or something. It was by then she had calmed down enough to realize that the something else was putting her on edge, something subtle. Her jewels. Her necklaces and things were all missing, all except for her mother's necklace which she had made sure that no one but her was able to ever get their hands on it.
Taking the necklace up in her mouth, Rin crawled out from under the couch, only taking a moment to look toward him before going straight back to his room. He didn't seem like the type to steal, and he still didn't considering he had taken everything at once instead of trying to get one thing from her at a time. A couple hoops, a bracelet? She may not have noticed those, but everything? Nope.
She didn't want to go back to his room, but she tried the door again anyway, having a more difficult time as a leopard, but she manged. She was wanting to find her things and take them back more than she was afraid of a few knife pricks.

Kazen snaps awake, feeling the ward on his room send a mental alarm into his head. For most of the rooms in his house, he didn't have anything of value so he didn't waste energy setting up alarms and such. But his personal room was a different story, it had a ward that activated when anything crossed it but him, sending him a mental alarm something was wrong.
Quickly getting up, he strolls over to his room, the leopard under the couch still forgotten. Opening the door, he's surprised to see it in there and it takes him a minute to figure out what's happening. When he does, he quickly shuts the door, cutting off it's escape and locks it behind him. Kneeling down and extending his hand, he hopes this time it works.
"It's alright, just stay calm. I don't want to hurt you, but I don't even allow Rin in here. So please, just come over here and we'll figure out what to do alright?"
He doubts this will work any better then the last time and reactivated his shield, but still hopes the leopard will just do what he says.

Oblivious to the alarm, Rin went on searching for her jewelry, setting her necklace on the edge of his bed so she could use her mouth to open any needed drawers she could get into. She would search high and low for the stolen items if needed, she was sure they would be in here. He wasn't a very good thief so she didn't think him a very good hider either.
She jumped a foot in the air when she heard another click of the door shutting behind her. Quickly, Rinka swivled around, flinching when she saw it was him and he had trapped her here. Looking around desperately, she backed as far as she could into a corner, her hair standing on end all down her spine while she started growling again. She thought she ad been careful not to wake him up, but he was here now and had caught her. Well. Sort of apparently.
Confusion washed over her briefly when he mentioned her name while talking to her. Did he not realize she wasn't a true wild leopard? No, he was quite bright, he would know that leopards didn't usually just come into someones home without cause. Rinka bared her fangs at him, thinking this a trick so he could get her close to hurt and swiped in the direction of the hand. She had just wanted her jewels

Pulling his hand back as the large cat swipes at it, Kazen sighs and decides that it isn't going to listen to him. But now it just got that much harder to get it out of there. Thinking for a moment, he walks out of the room, leaving the door open behind him. He activates the portal that leads out of his house and goes back to get the cat. To try and force it out through the portal.

Rin watched as the man seemed to give up on trying to hurt her. He was awake now though, and would likely come back with some sort of torture device, or suddenly be plated with armor and try smothering her till she whimpered for mercy. Both highly unpleasant outcomes she wanted to avoid.
As soon as he left the room Rinka trotted over to the door and nudged it closed. She wobbled unsteadily as she stood on her hind-legs, most of her weight on one paw, she set her front paws against the door to keep herself up. Taking the dead-bolt between her teeth, she turned her head slowly and locked it into place, locking the man out to delay any torture she could. With that done, she resumed her search for the jewels, not wanting to be punished without getting what she came for at least.

Returning to the door to find it locked, Kazen is surprised that the cat would even be smart enough to do that. Sighing, he reaches for his key, only to find it gone. Realizing he'd left it in his room, he goes in search of the spare key he kept under a stone by the fireplace. Retrieving it, he unlocks the door and steps inside, now slightly annoyed with this cat and just wanting it out of his home as fast as possible.

Okay, now she was starting to get mad. Where could he have put those jewels!? She searched all over, but for some reason she must have just been over looking one small, insignificant hiding place.
When the doorknob jiggled Rinka quickly stared down the door, but it didn't seem that he had the means to get in... then again he wasn't kicking down the door either, so maybe he had another means to get in. She had to hurry.
Hearing his soft retreating footsteps was a relief, but it just meant she had that much less time and it aggravated her to no end. Giving into her instinctual animal stress-reliever, Rin jumped up on his bed and raked her claws all along the cover, ripping it to shreds to calm herself down.

Stepping in, he finds his bed torn to shreds, with the leopard still on it tearing what little was left of it. Now truly angered by this animal, he strengthened his barrier so there was no chance of it harming him and launching a fireball at it which flies in front of it's face and explodes, leaving it uninjured but disoriented. Taking the chance, he grabs the cat and hauls it out the door and to the portal, ignoring any struggles and letting his shield absorb them. Throwing with all his might, he throws the leopard through the portal and closes it behind the beast. Sighing as the ordeal is finally over, he runs back into his room to check the damage. Relieved that none of his books or armory are damaged, he finds a strange necklace on the ground. Trying to pick it up, he realizes it much be charmed or something because it slipped out of his hand at each attempt. Intrigued, he quickly prepares what he thinks he'll need to remove the charm, hoping that this will keep him occupied for a while, completely forgetting the shredded bed and the fact Rin was still missing.
