What happened next had gone by in a blur, before Rin knew what had hit her she was seeing stars and being hauled out of his home. She didn't offer any struggling, accepting her fate. When he threw her through the portal, she could hardly believe it...
HE'D STOLEN HER JEWELS!!!!
Oh no, it was on now. Normally she would just shrug it off and take her freedom, thinking she could get other jewelry, but her necklace was still in his room. And she would go through hell to get it back.
Going back to the pedestal he had used before, Rin tried to reactivate the thing in order to return.

Outside: The pedestal doesn't react to Rin's efforts to open the portal, remaining just a small rock with a rune on it.
Inside: Whoever had put the charm on this necklace was a good mage. For everything he tried, he could now hold the necklace for a few seconds, showing it had weakened, but the enchantment was still in place as he still could not hold it for long. Sighing, he looks through some more tomes, hoping to find SOMETHING that may help. This was stronger then most other charms and barriers he encountered, so he was sure this would in fact keep him occupied for a while. Flipping through and trying another spell, to no avail, he sighs and gives up for now, casting a barrier around the necklace to keep anything from messing with it. Sifting through the jewelry he got from Rin, he decided there was nothing he particularly wanted. Taking everything but the strange necklace and stashes it back under the couch, hoping Rin will find it later if she ever shows up again. Realizing she'd been gone for a while, he decided to go check outside for her. Walking over to the entrance, he opens the portal to the outside of his home and steps outside.

Just as Kazen was trying all he could to be able to hold her necklace, Rinka was outside trying everything she could to get in at him. At the moment she was pacing, going through spells in her head. Her memory wasn't totally accurate though and she couldn't recall anything that would be of use, just her combat spells. Maybe she should go home then come back with her book...
Even as the thought to leave entered her mind, the portal opened and lo-and-behold the thief stepped out into the open. This was perfect. Rin launched herself at the man in a hissing ball of furry fury, sharp claws outstretched, now turning aggressive since he had kicked her out and kept her prized possession.

Not expecting an ambush as he exited his house, Kazen cries out as he falls victim to a large, sharp object that flies at him out of nowhere. He manages to get away, but not after taking many scratches and bites from what he now saw was the leopard from earlier. Throwing up his shield, he casts his blades of darkness spell, but he still can't control the spell as he'd like and the blades missing. Now enraged at the creature, he retreats out of range of any follow-up attacks and creates a large fireball, which he hurdles at the cat.

Her attacks suddenly managing to get through at the surprise attack, Rinka watches him get away. The knives that he had called forth before to attack her from behind the door appeared once again, but they were off-topic and she didn't even seem to have to move to dodge them. This was all the better.
Even if the man was her main focus of attack, she wasn't on an assassination mission, she was on a retrieval one.
Rin didn't even try to advance further on him or get fully out of the way of the fireball. Instead, she darted forward and went back through the portal to return to the house, that's when she took a sharp left on the other side, just in case the fireball was able to go through the opened portal as well.

Cursing as the leopard yet again had gotten into his home, he followed it in. As he stepped through the portal, he readied blades of darkness again, firing one at his door as he exits the portal back into his house and fires the other four at the leopard, his accuracy improving so the blades are actually going where he wants this time. The one he fired at his door was only to keep it from there again and didn't actually damage the door on impact.

The first of the blades missed her by a long shot, actually flying past her to... wait.. was he attacking his door? Most animals would have diverted from their path at the area which was now under fire, but not her. She was after something and if he wanted to attack the door instead of her, great.
Unfortunately the door wasn't all he had attacked. Rinka wasn't accounting for him improving so much in so short a time, especially after what she assumed to be a horrible miss or something from the first dagger. She continued toward the door, her assumptions causing her to take any blades if they were on path to hit her while she ran to the door in a straight line.

Two of the blades fly past, missing completely and doing no damage. The other two, however, hit her in the front shoulder and back leg. Walking over, he checks the cat over, seeing if it's still alive as the blades dissolve.

The blades were in the back of Rinka's mind until she felt a sharp pain in her shoulder and hind-leg. Hissing painfully, she lost her footing and rolled over the ground, only a few feet from the door when she finally came to a stop from the momentum. For the first few moments the world spun for a little longer while the pain slowly numbed to something tolerable, the blades having disappeared just as they had come.
Looking up, Rinka's gaze focused intently on the man, clearly alive as she tried to lash out at him with her last good uninjured paw if he were close enough.

Walking up to the creature on the ground, he flinches back quickly as it swipes at him with it's last good paw. Then something clicks in Kazen's head.....
Leopard.....one burnt paw......somehow got into his house......ah crud.......
Walking up and checking it's wounds, letting his shield absorb the swipes, he looks the creature in the eyes and decides it's better to just ask it then anything else.
"Hey, are you Rin? Cause if you are, sorry, I didn't know." He walks into the other room and comes back with some medical supplies and starts treating the leopard's wounds.

The question caught her off-guard, giving her pause in her swipes. Was she Rin? Did he seriously not realize she wasn't just some wild animal? .... How many times HAD he found leopards in his house??
It still didn't matter, he still had stolen her necklace and was going to get it back.
When he gets up to go into the house, she pulls herself back up to follow him inside. She didn't go to another room though, she went directly to his room to get that necklace. She took the knob/handle in her mouth and tried to give it a turn, possibly leaving teeth marks on it, but just as she got it open he came up on her with some sort of supplies.
There was no way she would let him lay a hand on her now. When he tried to treat her wounds she simply refused to stay still, constantly moving away from him, but always trying to get back around and into his room. She was much slower going with three out of four legs protesting at all the movement.

Kazen sighs as she won't stop moving, making it more difficult to treat her wounds. "I'd rather not hurt you any more then I have, and I'm sorry, but if you don't hold still, you'll just die of these wounds. Do you want that? Or do you want to live and return to your home?"
Finally growing tired of her wiggling, he just gives up and sits next to her, watching her still try to get to where ever she so desperately needs to go.

Once he sits down and seemingly stays still, Rinka goes into his room and tries to get at her necklace, laying down next to it and clawing and biting at the shield if she has to in order to get at it. If she was going to die by these wounds, she was going to get this first.

Follows her into the room, seeing her clawing at the shield around the necklace, realizing that it must belong to her. Sighing he walks over, scratching her behind the ear like earlier, sitting next to her again.
"I'm guessing you want this back, don't you? I'll give it back if you let me treat your wounds, alright? I don't want you dying on me."
Kazen gets up and retrieves the supplies from the other room and attempts to treat her wounds again, hoping the incentive of the necklace is enough to get her to comply.

Rinka growls when he scratches behind her ears, but is too focused on the necklace for the moment to give it much mind. Then as soon as he mentions it, she gives him her attention.
The bait was taken, so she laid down for him to treat her, but she made it a point to yowl loudly at every single point that she felt a bit of pain. He's the one that was ultimately at fault for this, so he might as well take the consequences.

Ignoring her yowls of pain, Kazen finishes treating her wounds and wrapping them in bandages. "Alright, done, that wasn't so bad, was it?" Deactivating the shield, he pushes the necklace over to her so she doesn't have to move, not wanting her to make her wounds any worse. Sighing and patting her head, he lets her rest there for a while.

It wasn't as bad as she made it sound, but it still hurt like hell. Rest was the last thing on Rinka's mind as she nearly bit his hand when he went to push her necklace. Growling when he pattered her head, she took it in her mouth and promptly stood up, uncaring that it would only make things worst.
Taking her necklace with her, Rin jogged out to find the most secluded area in the house and collapse there with her possession still tightly clenched in her jaws.

Kazen sighs and watches her walk off into a corner of the house. Seeing her collapse, he grabs a blanket from the couch and throws it over her, going into his own room to take a nap only to find his bed shredded from earlier. Sighing yet again, he begins repairing his bed while he let's Rin rest.

Having the necklace back, Rinka slept peacefully with the cool floor under her, and a warm blanket on top. It isn't too terribly long she's out for, the sleep not being one of gentle recovery, but forced unconsciousness. Within an hour or two she was again awake.
Her body screamed at her to stay still, but when had she been one to listen much? It was bad at first, but she found out as long as she walked slowly he was right, it wasn't so bad. This time she kept the necklace with her even in or leopard form, nosing it up and around her neck where it stayed solid against her fur. Taking a slow stroll around, she went in search of her other jewels, still thinking they would be in the man's room like her necklace was.

Glancing back at the door from his work on his bed, he sees Rin enter, still in leopard form. Sighing and deciding she likely just won't listen to him no matter what, he just lets her go about her business, focusing on repairing his shredded bed, watching her from the corner of his eye to make sure she didn't destroy anything else.

It wasn't her intent to destroy much of anything... Rinka just wanted to make his life a living hell now without getting kicked out so it could last as long as possible.
Since he was basically giving her the run of his room, she jumped up on the mattress and promptly settled down on it. The look blank look she was giving him clearly said something akin to the question, 'you mad bro?[/b]'

Kazen sighs as she lies on his newly reconstructed mattress, then seeing the look and deciding not to take the bait. "If you want to leave, you are welcome to, and if you want your jewels they should be where you left them earlier, I'm giving you the chance to leave, you don't seem like you make a great pet anyways." He walks out and opens the portal then sits in a chair, leaning back and waits for her to do something.

The offer was nice, and had it been given to her earlier, when he hadn't taken her mother's necklace, she would have jumped at the chance to be free of this pet title and leave her. But now? Now she was out for revenge. Instead of moving or getting up or anything, Rin simply shifted back to her human form, wrapped herself up in his covers, and closed her eyes.
She would be taking over his bed for the rest of the afternoon and night.

After a while of waiting, Kazen walks back into his room to find Rin sleeping in his bed. Sighing, he closes the portal and goes to sleep on the couch, just letting her sleep in his bed this time.

-In the morning-
That was probably the best sleep she had ever had. Who knew proper beds could be so comfortable. Stretching out caused a small cringe, but all around she felt better after an easy night's sleep, shifting back to her more humanoid form.
It didn't seem to be too late in the day, the sun barely awake itself as it yawned over the horizon, so Rinka decided to get up and see what all they had to make breakfast with.
On her way out and to the kitchen she looked toward the main room to see if the man was up yet, wandering if she should go over and adorn the rest of her jewelry now or later.

Kazen "slept" longer then usual, tired from constantly using an unfamiliar spell all day, along with going into his demon form as well. Awaking early, he hadn't heard anything from his room all night, so he assumed that Rin was still asleep when he awoke. He supposed it's natural, since his elven heritage allowed him to rest faster then most other beings. Remaining quiet as to not wake Rin, he strolled into the kitchen to get something to eat. While fixing some toast over a flame in his hand (that's how he makes toast live with it), he took stock on what Rin had used on the fish and decided he needed to go into town again to get more supplies. When his toast was finished, he sat down at a table in the kitchen and pulled out a map, pen, and a sheet of paper, writing down what he needed and where it was, and planning out his trip while he waited for Rin to awake.

So, he was already up and awake when she strolled by to peek in, scribbling down something or other on some paper. Did she want to know what it was? yes. Was she going in to ask? No.
Going on by without making a sound like any proud feline, she went on into the kitchen and started making her own breakfast, a steamy omelet if she had the means, if nothing but bread she would settle for toast as well. She didn't care any longer to even ask him if he had eaten already, or wanted something made. He could fix his own D*** meals from now on.

Finishing up his plans, he turns to get up and check on Rin again, only to find her making her own breakfast. Folding up his papers and putting them in his pocket, he leaves her to her own devices and goes back to his room to fix the bed and clear it of any cat hairs she may have left behind. Finishing, he picks up a new book he hadn't read yet and reads by the fireplace, just flipping through it so he knows what to expect when he read it in detail later.

No cat hairs seem to litter the bed, the feline usually taking a bath everyday to keep her fur from doing this and getting all over her house.
Once she was finished cooking Rinka chose to eat her food on the kitchen floor as well then just set her dishes in the sink, not even bothering to wash them. He could do that too, he had hands.
Making her way back out of the kitchen, she noticed that he was in a slightly different position than before; had he gotten up while she was eating? Shrugging it off she decided to make her way back to his room, going in slamming the door just to see if it bothered him.

Jumping slightly at the slam, Kazen decided he was just going to get rid of Rin. He wouldn't kill her, his fight with her had been more entertaining then the usual people he just incinerated on the spot, but she was just becoming to annoying to keep around. Plus, he hated that she was always in his room. Thinking back, why did he keep forgetting to lock it? Either way getting up from his chair, leaving his book on the table, he walked over to his room and quickly opened the door.
"We're leaving, get your jewels and come on."
